Our Story

Canadian market is complex, companies are often unsure of how to get started.

Our unique expertise to navigate the Canadian economic and regulatory landscape attracted and retained leading-edge clean economy clients like Google’s Nest Labs, Stem (a behind-the-meter energy storage provider), and Alectra Utilities as well as industry associations such as the Canadian Nuclear Association (CNA). MarketStep Consulting was founded to continue helping companies find success in the Canadian market — contributing to national economic development and to create an overall positive impact.

It was a real honour to work alongside Utilia during our time together as CanSIA board members. More recently, we served on a transition board that was tasked with merging the Canadian wind energy and solar energy industries -- not an easy feat. Utilia was able to consistently provide strategic insight that helped to shape our collective decision-making. She has an exceptional work ethic and is widely-known and respected for her passionate support of the clean energy sources that will drive Canada's economic future.
